Weddings and Public Events on Reserves, Parks, Beaches or Headlands
The City maintains a wide range of public reserves, parks and beaches and regularly receive requests to use or hire these spaces for private and public functions. The core purpose of these public recreation areas is for free and open use for the general public on a first in first use basis. As such, the City does not book public recreation areas for private functions or events with the exception of wedding ceremonies.
Events that are open to the public, either free or ticketed, are permitted to be held on public recreation areas with approval by the City.
Marquees or entertainment structures/devices such as jumping castles, water slides etc. are not permitted to be installed on public recreation reserves unless in conjunction with an approved public event.
Music event booking enquiries must be submitted at least 3 months prior to the event date.
All other event booking enquiries must be submitted at least one month prior to the event date.
