City of Coffs Harbour continually works to update and improve our understanding of flood risk and reduce the impact of flooding. We follow the NSW Government's guidelines for managing floodplains.
We have detailed flood information for the Coffs Creek catchment. A flood study review was undertaken and adopted by City of Coffs Harbour in 2018.
A Floodplain Risk Management Study for Boambee Newports Creek was undertaken and adopted by City of Coffs Harbour in 2016.
The Upper Orara River Flood Study was prepared in 2012 to define the existing flood behaviour in the Upper Orara River and Bucca Bucca Creek.
A Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan for Woolgoolga was undertaken and adopted by City of Coffs Harbour in 2016.
A flood study and floodplain risk management study and plan for Middle Creek was completed in 2021.
We have limited information for the Moonee Creek Catchment.
This covers Station, Arrawarra, Darkum, Willis, Fiddamans and Double Crossing Creek, Corindi River and Hearnes Lake. A flood study was completed and endorsed by the City of Coffs Harbour in 2023.
