#ShareTheShore with us this summer. Let's thrive together- people, pets and wildlife.

Come along to the Share The Shore program at Red Rock to learn about the plight of the regions incredible shorebirds, including Little Terns, Pied Oyster Catchers and Beach Stone Curlews who lay their eggs and raise their chicks during October to March in shallow sand scrapes above the high tide mark and along the Coffs Coast.

These birds need foraging areas where they can feed to satisfy their daily energy requirements and roosting areas where they can rest at high tide, all without the disturbance from people, dogs and cars.

National Parks and Wildlife Services Discovery Rangers will help you identify the different shore birds through the binocular lens where you can view the birds and their habitat undisturbed. You’ll discover ways in which we can be responsible when interacting with the environment to help protect threatened bird species when nesting and feeding through some fun interactive activities on the day.

Some binoculars will be available to use, but please bring your own if you have them.

There will be a Dog's Breakfast on the day, including a free sausage sizzle, for all dog lovers and owners to find out information about places to walk your dog on-leash and off-leash and other information about pet ownership in the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area.

This program is a collaboration between the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the City of Coffs Harbour.

Age: This tour is suited to adults and children. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Location: We will be based at Tom Richards Memorial Park Lawson St Red Rock.
