Cr Les Oxford is a fourth generation Coffs Harbour local raising 3 young children (5th generation) here in beautiful Coffs Harbour. Cr Oxfords parents still live in their home of 55 years in Coffs Harbour.
Cr Oxford is passionate about the place we live and the decisions that are made by council on behalf of our community. He is a voice who listens, and a person who understands what is required to move a town forward towards progress and not be left behind.
Educated in the public system, he finished year 12 and obtained a job with an insurance company in the late 80s. From there he went into broking, working with AIBA Group Insurance Brokers who later were obtained by Alexander and Alexander.
Not wanting to be tied down by the corporate world, Cr Oxford joined a partnership and started a new brokerage from scratch in 1996. He has now been part of a successful insurance broking business for 28 years and employing 5 people. He feels has been so fortunate to have lived and watched Coffs Harbour grow.
