City of Coffs Harbour has welcomed Mayor Nikki Williams and the new Council for the next four-year term.
After distribution of preferences, Mayor Williams received 55.16 per cent of the vote, with a progressive total of 19,343 votes.
“I am humbled by the community’s support and looking forward to leading a cohesive team of Councillors as we progress the City forward,” City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Williams said.
The NSW Electoral Commission also today revealed the flow of preferences for the eight positions of Councillor.
After the distribution flow, they are:
Cath Fowler
Les Oxford
Paul Amos
Julie Sechi
Gurminder Saro
Tony Judge
Jonathan Cassell
George Cecato
“It’s an honour to be elected the Mayor of the community I love, and this privilege is one I do not take for granted,” Mayor Williams said.
The new Council will have its first meeting on 24 October in the River Oak Room, Yarrila Place, from 5pm.
Ordinary meetings of Council are held on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, from February through to December.
Meetings start immediately following the Public Forum (when there is one). Council meetings can be viewed online or in person.
The previous Council resolved to hold a poll at last month’s Local Government election on the future of the Jetty Foreshores.
The question put was: The Coffs Harbour Jetty Foreshore will be redeveloped. Do you agree that some of the foreshore land should be used for multi-level private residential development?
The NSW Electoral Commission has the vote to this at: Yes 31.32 per cent and No 68.68 per cent.
