Many are house proud, others obsessed with their backyards – but what about the ‘common grounds’ on your doorstep like a local creek, park or beach?
City of Coffs Harbour will shortly call for nominations for projects seeking support in the 2024/2025 Environmental Levy Grants Program.
Grants from $2,000 to $25,000 are possible for projects which deliver environmental and community benefit.
“These annual grants are funded through the Environmental Levy and reflect our shared vision of a sustainable and thriving community,” City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Cr Paul Amos said.
“Caring for where we live can bring immediate benefits and create a legacy for the generations who follow.”
Anyone can apply for grant funding: Groups, not-for-profits, schools, businesses and universities (an unincorporated group can apply for an amount up to $5,000).
Some of the projects backed by the City in the current financial year include:
Revegetation and maintenance of Sandy Beach Reserve
Koala habitat enhancement at Toormina/Boambee East; and
Improving Garlambirla Bushlands along Coffs Creek.
See a Sandy Beach Action Group project.
Nominations for the 2024/2025 Environmental Levy Grants Program are open from 15 March to 26 April.
