Sandy Beach Reserve Community Hub and Active Youth Space Project
- Project stageConstruction underway
We are building a new playground, pathways, picnic facilities, skate park and multi-purpose court at Sandy Beach Reserve.
This work is the result of the Sandy Beach Reserve Masterplan developed in partnership with the local community in 2017. The projects in the plan were prioritised by the community and will be implemented as funding becomes available.
More than 70 per cent of consultation participants supported the concept plan to proceed as presented at public exhibition, with 77 per cent supporting the inclusion of the skate elements and multi-purpose court.
The skate park and mutli-purpose court have been designed and located in line with Safer by Design principles and community input.
For more information about the consultation and some of the key considerations influencing the design see the project page on Have Your Say website.
Playground construction
Work on the new playground, picnic facilities and accessible pathway connections are expected to start in late February 2023, with completion expected late June 2023, weather-permitting. See all the details about what's planned below.
