Playground Gilibri Crescent Sawtell

We have upgraded playground equipment to provide better play opportunities for young children and seating.

The playground design follows guidelines in the Coffs Harbour Open Space Strategy 2010 which the community contributed to via surveys of households, students, schools and relevant associations as well as liaison with sports clubs and stakeholder workshops.

A new Public Realm Strategy is currently being developed. This includes not just green spaces but all external spaces available for public use, such as: streets, forecourts, squares, bicycle and pedestrian links and waterways.

Scope

Funding

City of Coffs Harbour allocated $170,000 to upgrade or replace ageing playgrounds at Sawtell and Lowanna.

Funding is earmarked to upgrade the playground at Lowanna and a new community group has been established to work with us to develop a masterplan for Lowanna Reserve.
