Work Experience and Volunteering
WORK EXPERIENCE
Coffs Harbour is all about connecting high school and university students with work opportunities. You get to see how a big organisation runs and work on cool projects as part of a diverse team.
Our placement opportunities offer flexible, blended working arrangements, based on business needs, student availability, and scope of the project and tasks. These placements are coordinated through your institution to ensure you are enrolled in a suitable unit to receive credit for the hours worked.
If you're a student, it's important to know about different types of work placements and internships that you may come across during your studies:
RTO Placements
If you're enrolled in a TAFE or other Registered Training Organisation, you might need to complete a work placement as part of your course. These placements are unpaid and are a requirement to complete the course.
Professional Experience Placements
Some university courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate, may have a requirement for professional experience placements to help you develop practical skills. These placements are also unpaid and are meant to provide you with valuable experience.
Internships or Work Integrated Learning
As a university student in your penultimate or final year, you may have the opportunity to undertake internships or Work Integrated Learning placements for credit towards your degree. These roles are unpaid and are usually tied to specific academic units.
Work Experience
For high school students in years 10, 11, and 12, there are opportunities to gain unpaid work experience that complements your studies and connects to your educational goals.
We're excited to offer opportunities in various business areas and disciplines throughout the year, depending on our business capacity. If you're interested, please fill out the online form below. If a suitable placement opportunity becomes available, our Learning and Development Partner will be in touch with you.
