After an emergency

During an emergency

Once the immediate threat of an emergency or disaster has subsided, it’s crucial for both families and businesses to remain vigilant as they navigate the clean-up and recovery process. Safety should continue to be a priority as you move forward and remember that recovery is often a gradual journey.

To support you during this time, we’ve provided helpful resources and links below. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to City or visit the NSW Reconstruction Authority website.

In the aftermath of an emergency, the Local Emergency Management Committee may decide to form a Local Recovery Committee. This committee serves as the key decision-making body for recovery efforts and helps guide local leadership in the process. The committee will assess the needs and resources of the community, then create a tailored recovery action plan.

Recovery Centres

In times of emergency, the NSW Reconstruction Authority assesses the need for recovery centres and determines their locations. These centers serve as a centralised resource, offering affected residents, businesses and farmers access to recovery support from various agencies and organisations. For further information about recovery centres, temporary accommodation, wellbeing support and clean-up help visit the NSW Government's disaster recovery map.
