Apprenticeships
Electrical
Do you enjoy taking things apart to see how they work? Our four-year Apprenticeship in Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician could be what you are looking for! You'll learn and build your technical skills related to the repair and maintenance of water-related infrastructure, repair of electrical equipment and associated control devices, and exciting aspects of Electrotechnology including ERAC requirements for an electrician's license. All while working with a supportive team to create cool technology for the City!
Mechanical
Are you naturally good with mechanical stuff? Do you have strong attention to details. This apprenticeship will see you get hands-on and learn about the installation, upgrading, and maintenance of plant and equipment. Embark on your Apprenticeship with the support of our experienced team completing a Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade).
Greenkeeper
Are you a sports lover who enjoys being outdoors? If so, you'll be thrilled to see your work in action at international sporting events, local school carnivals, and with various sports groups. As an Apprentice Greenkeeper, you'll have the opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. With our supportive and experienced team, you'll acquire valuable skills in greenkeeping and facility maintenance at all of the city's managed sports grounds, including the renowned C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
Formwork / Falsework Carpentry
Start your career as a Formwork Carpenter with us? Learn how to interpret drawings and plans and the foundations of bridge maintenance and construction, including handling, shaping and placing of timber & concrete elements for bridge maintenance purposes and the construction of formwork and falsework. Our team will support you support you and mentor you through your apprenticeship as your complete a Certificate III in Formwork/Falsework.

Environmental Health
Do you have an interest in health promotion, environment, waste management or sustainability. You will be supported by our experienced team and learn how to interpret, critically evaluate, prevent and solve a range of problems in order to protect and promote the health and well-being of the community. Completing your Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) you will be well equipped to join the frontline of health protection ready for a professional career in the environmental health field.
Procurement and Contracts
Are you someone who pays attention to detail and loves working with computers? With the support of our Contracts and Procurement team you will have the opportunity to complete a Certificate IV in Business and learn about store operations, efficient procurement services, administrative support for the contracts team and explore the exciting world of supplier management with us.
Customer Resolution Officer
Are you a friendly face, do you enjoy going the extra mile to help people? The Trainee Customer Resolution Officer will undertake a Certificate IV in Business Administration while gaining on the job experience form our supportive customer services team here at the heart of the City of Coffs Harbour.
Financial Support
As part of the City's finance team undertake a Certificate IV Accounting and Bookkeeping and learn a variety of tasks within the financial support team, such as handling revenue and accounts payable, keeping financial records in check, and supporting customer inquiries. If you thrive in a team environment and have a love for playing with numbers, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to start a rewarding career in finance.
Civil Construction - Plant Operations
Get ready to level up your plant operation skills and be part of the City's exciting infrastructure projects? Join us to get the support and training you need to operate heavy machinery like excavators and rollers with confidence, all while working as part of a great team. With our Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations, you'll be well on your way to becoming a skilled and certified plant operator in the civil construction sector.
Groundsperson
Work with our Coffs Coast Holiday Parks team, where you'll have the chance to develop your skills while undertaking a Certificate III in Holiday Parks and Resorts. You'll learn all the skills required for mowing, cleaning, general maintenance, and repairs. If you love the outdoors and enjoy working with people, this traineeship is perfect for you!
Horticultural Services
A career in horticulture can be for the outdoor enthusiasts, the creatives, the scientific minded, the environmentalist of the lovers of tech. Complete your Certificate III in Parks and Gardens and open up the pathway to a self-fulfilling career in horticulture and have a positive impact on the community through the creation of livable cities, providing health environments and protecting natural habitats.
Laboratory Technical Assistant
Kick-start your career with a traineeship in our Coffs Harbour Laboratory while completing a Certificate III in Laboratory skills. Get ready to dive into a wide range of testing and analysis, and even have the chance to play around with modern testing instruments and specialised scientific equipment. Survey and Design
